THE NATIONAL 2017: WEBSITE GOES LIVES

'The National' 2017 has launched its website dedicated to its upcoming triennial exhibition, profiling the artists featured including Khadim Ali, Richard Bell, Gordon Bennett, Dale Harding, Gordon Hookey, Tom Nicholson, Raquel Ormella, Khaled Sabsabi, and Jemima Wyman. The site also includes essays by the exhibition curators providing an introduction to the exhibition concept.

 In 2017 the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Carriageworks and Museum of Contemporary Art will present The National: New Australian Art. The National will showcase contemporary Australian art and includes new work by Khadim Ali, Gordon Bennett, Richard Bell, Dale Harding, Gordon Hookey, Tom Nicholson, Raquel Ormella, Khaled Sabsabi and Jemima Wyman. The National opens 30 March 2017.

ROSS MANNING & JEMIMA WYMAN: INSTITUTE OF MODERN ART 2017 EXHIBITIONS

An ambitious solo exhibition of recent work by Ross Manning has been announced as part of the Institute of Modern Art's 2017 exhibition program. The show will run from 5 August – 28 October. Earlier in 2017 the IMA will also present a group exhibition entitled 'Material Politics' featuring the work of Jemima Wyman. Read more

'Jemima Wyman: Tactical Frivolity' opens 29 January at Artspace Mackay. The exhibition features a selection of recent works, including works on paper, wallpaper, collages, bronze talismans and textiles, that examine the aesthetics of contemporary and historical protests. 'Jemima Wyman: Tactical Frivolity' runs until 13 March 2016. Works by Natalya Hughes, Gemma Smith and Jemima Wyman feature in the exhibition 'Quaternary' at QUT Art Museum, Brisbane. 'Quaternary' is the second iteration of QUT's triennial exhibition series, which highlights the individual sucesses of graduates in contemporary arts practice both nationally and internationally. Jemima Wyman currently has a project entitled Collective Coverings, Communal Skin at the Liverpool Biennial 2012. Collective Coverings, Communal Skin features intricate weavings made from second hand hunting and camouflage clothing.

Work by Jemima Wyman is currently being exhibited as part of the Panorama: Are we there yet?exhibition at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. The exhibition explores  issues pertinent to contemporary Australia – identity, environment, history and politics. Panorama is the metaphorical term for viewing a long process from beginning to end. Whether this process be a life experience of political, moral or environmental nature, your view in the beginning will often change by the time you reach the end.

The Beauty of Distance: Songs of Survival in a Precarious Age is the title to the 17th Biennale of Sydney with David Elliott as its curator. There are 166 artists from more than 36 countries participating in the exhibition. Jemima Wyman exhibition at IMA

A solo exhibition by Jemima Wyman will open at the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane in late August. The Declaration of Resemblance and Fluid Insurgents will feature new photo and video based works by Wyman, which continue the artist's recent interest in camouflage and the aesthetic of liberation armies.
