We pay tribute to Mel Ramsden, who passed away in July. A central figure of the Conceptual Art movement internationally, he spent his formative years in Australia, studying at the Victorian College of the Arts before relocating to London and then New York in 1967. It was there he joined the seminal Conceptual Art collective 'Art and Language' with Ian Burn and others. He continued to work as a member of Art and Language alongside Michael Baldwin until his passing earlier this year. With his characteristic wit and acerbic intellectual insight, he made an enormous contribution to Conceptual Art and its ongoing legacy during his lifetime. A short obituary by Ann Stephen can be found here.
