4 Nov '26

Women of brisbane is a collaborative nonfiction work of biographical narratives about women who have contributed to Brisbane/Meanjin/Magandjin, first published in hard copy by Museum of Brisbane (MoB) in 2021. Now, a brand-new digital republication is being launched by Judy Watson and Louise Martin-Chew.

Hosted on AustLit, the digital edition is a fully illustrated, digitised and updated publication of the 2021 book, with new narratives and featuring high-resolution reproductions of Judy’s artwork, photographs of the original in-situ artwork as well as the three poems included on-site at Hamilton Reach. Essays and biographies by Gaja Kerry Charlton, Kay Saunders, Jackie Huggins and Ray Kerkhove (published in the original book) are also included in the digital edition as are additional biographical narratives.
