In gallery two is The Future was Femme by Natalya Hughes. For this body of work, Hughes quotes Russian born, French artist and designer, Erté (Romaine de Tirtoff, 1892 – 1990), whose androgynous images held allusions to aesthetic transgression. Hughes dissects the images, leaving abstracted associations of the feminine, the body and excess.
